Mechanically coupled cylinders
Mechanically coupled cylinders describe pneumatic rodless linear actuators whose slides are moved by a mechanical coupling with the piston. With this design, the pneumatic space is opened in the longitudinal direction and is sealed to the outside by a flexible sealing band in front of and behind the piston. These linear drives are used in particular where piston rod cylinders require too much installation space or where the required stroke length is greater than is possible with piston rod cylinders.
